60% from the value of turnover is obtained from export, and 40% from the internal market. The exports are made almost 90% in bulk, in 300 kg drums.

The Romanian market of honey:
The Romanian honey production is about 18.000 tones / year, and 85% of this production is being exported, because Romanian consumption of honey is only about 100-150g / year, 15 times less than the German average (wich is 1500g-1700g / year).
The honey production in 2008 was just 15.000 tones, but in 2009 it was estimated at 21.000 tones, with one of the best acacia honey production in the last 5 years.
In this moment, in Romania are registered on national scale around 40.000 beekeepers, total number of hives being over 1.100.000. The main districts where you can find the most high percentage of hives are: Valcea, Mures, Arad and Bihor.
